Jon Blackstock graduated from the College of Charleston (South Carolina) with a BA in English and from Georgia Southern with an MA in Literature. He learned almost as much in college as he did working the various jobs, from librarian to garbage man, that paid bills while he was in college.

Blackstock teaches high school English because he didn't really learn much in high school the first time around. Since college, he has added both Advanced Placement Language and gifted certifications. He also directs the high school theatre, and acts occasionally in the community.

Along with this teaching habit, has has reverted to an old writing habit. He enjoyed working for the local newspaper in high school and never got over the thrill of interviews and bylines. The newspaper gig taught him that the good writers were those who met the midnight deadline. He has since published various short stories, poems, and articles online and in what Blackstock insists is the real world.
